To promote collaboration among medical specialists interested in chest diseases.
To encourage and undertake research and other scientific work in the field of chest diseases.
To co-operate with other national and international groups for sharing and dissemination of knowledge in chest diseases.
To publish scientific and health education material.
To organize and maintain a library of books and periodicals for the use of members
To organize conferences and continual medical education programmes for colleagues
To undertake programmes for health awareness among the general population
